The LondonΒ Palestine Film Festival kicks off this month with a total of 16 days of events focusing on film and art curated by and inspired by Palestinians.Β
The Barbican on November 15 will open the night, withΒ a screening of βIt Must Be Heavenβ by award-winning filmmaker Elia Suleiman. The Cannes-garlanded film is a comic sagaΒ in whichΒ the protagonist struggles with questions exploring identity, nationality and belonging.Β
There will be multiple screenings at locations such as Curzon Soho, the ICA and the Rio. Many of the screenings are followed by Q&A sessionsΒ with the filmmakers and there will be panel events, too. The festival is designed to encourage βcrucial dialogue regarding Palestineβs film industry, its culture and its politicsβ.Β
