Take a flight to the skies with British Airways i360 in Brighton

When it opens this summer at the foot of the West Pier on Brighton beach, British Airways i360 will be the world’s tallest moving observation tower and the world’s first vertical cable car. Visitors will glide gently up to 450ft to enjoy breathtaking 360° views across the Regency city, surrounding South Downs and beautiful Sussex coastline.

Conceived and designed by Marks Barfield Architects, creators of the London Eye, the landmark 162-metre high visitor attraction has a fully enclosed, hand-crafted glass viewing pod with room for up to 200 visitors.

As guests admire the unfolding views, they can move freely around the pod and even enjoy a drink during their flight.
The British Airways i360 pod will house the Nyetimber Sky Bar, which will serve award-winning local sparkling wine and other drinks from the South Downs region; and will host a calendar of events throughout the year.

A complimentary app will enable visitors to find out more about how the tower and pod were built, discover the fascinating heritage of Brighton and Sussex and pick out landmarks they can see during their flight. A host will be on board to assist guests and answer any questions they may have.

Afternoon tea can be enjoyed in the British Airways i360 West Pier tearoom, housed in a reconstructed 1866 West Pier tollbooth on the upper esplanade, with views overlooking the beach, the pier and out to sea.

The beach building will also encompass a gift shop, an exhibition, flexible hospitality rooms and an indoor kids’ play zone.

Visitors can combine a visit to British Airways i360 with a stroll along the seafront, a visit to Brighton’s Palace Pier, a tour of the splendid Royal Pavilion and shopping in the newly opened West Pier boutique shops, in the famous Lanes or in the bohemian shops of the North Laine area.

British Airways i360 is located in Brighton and Hove which, with 11 million visitors every year, is the most-visited seaside city in the UK and the most-visited place in the South East outside of London.

Brighton is less than one hour by train from London and only 24 minutes from London Gatwick Airport. Direct trains operate from London Victoria, London Bridge and Clapham Junction. Trains also connect from St Pancras International for Eurostar arrivals.

Ticket prices from £15.00 for adults and £7.50 for children, under-4s go free. Other ticket types are available include Priority and Sky Bar flights.
