Gallions Reach Shopping Park in Beckton hosted vlogger of the moment, Dina Torkia, this weekend. Hundreds of fans queued to meet the Park’s style guru for the season.
The Egyptian English fashionista started a blog in 2011 to prove, “you could look amazing and wear a scarf,” and has gone on to amass hundreds of thousands of followers online with her YouTube videos picking up well over 43 million views, making her arguably one of the most-high profile hijabi bloggers in the UK.
Dina is the face of this year’s spring fashion at the Shopping Park on Armada Way, and met with scores of young fans on Saturday 30th April.
Centre manager Arnold Catterall said: “We are really excited to have Dina Torkia as our style guide for the season and it was great to see so many people in the Park to meet her. We recognise that we have a diverse customer base in East London and with her fashion expertise, Dina was the ideal partner for our Spring campaign.”
One lucky winner, Anisa Hoque, was treated to a personal shopping experience with Dina and £500 to spend in Gallions Reach stores.
Dina’s appearance at Gallions Reach is part of the park’s programme of events designed to reflect what the community really want from their shopping centre. Throughout the year it offers a variety of activities from the Christmas Parade to a kids club every school holiday.
