Nadiya Hussain bakes for her majesty the Queen

Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain had prepared the three-tier orange drizzle delight with a butter cream and marmalade filling at her home the day before.

Nadiya was contacted by the Palace a couple of weeks ago to see if she would be willing to take on the task of baking the Queen’s birthday cake.

“My initial reaction was, it must be a mistake or some kind of prank,” she said. “I told my husband and he said I had to do it. How could I say no?
