Healthy Investments to buy your parents

What can you buy that will give you the biggest healthy bang for your buck?

Sunglasses

UV rays can damage your eyes. Long term exposure to UV rays can lead to cataracts and incurable age related macular degeneration, which can cause blindness. Buy sunglasses which wrap around the eye and pushes out 99 per cent of light. Invest in their future vision.

Home blood pressure monitor

This is a must! Home monitors are accurate and easy to use. You can keep a regular check on your parents blood pressure without leaving your home. Weekly and monthly checks can lower your risk of heart attack. You should contact your doctor if your reading is consistently high or low (90/60 and 120/80 is considered ideal usually.

Pair of 2kg weights

Use them to maintain muscle mass, something we lose as we get older. Using weights also help with posture, mobility and reduce the risk of injury. Tell your parents to keep their weights in sight not tucked away in a cupboard so they can use them when watching TV.

Veggie Cookbook

Give your parents good ideas on what to eat like lentils (Daal), or beans which are healthy, packed with goodness and easy to make.
