On Sunday evening, the crescent for the new month of Dhul Hijjah was sighted, leading to the announcement of dates for Hajj and Eid Al-Adha
The 1st of Dhul Hijjah is Monday 19th June 2023. This means that the day of ‘Arafah (9th Dhul Hijjah) is Tuesday 27th of June and Eid Al Adha (10th Dhul Hijjah) is Wednesday 28th of June.
The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah – replete with significance and virtues – once again allows us to maximise our chances of benefitting spiritually by increasing our prayers, noble deeds, charity and daily dhikr.
What’s more, the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah have been identified and highlighted by Allah and the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. In fact. Allah has preferred the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah over all the other days as the Prophet PBUH mentions, “There are no days during which the righteous action is so pleasing to Allah than these days (i.e., the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah).” [Sahih al-Bukhari]
