Morrisons is first supermarket to stock halal pick and mix sweets

The selection of 36 sweets includes liquorice sticks, cola bottles and jelly beans, gummy bears and sugared lips, all guaranteed free of animal products or alcohol-based colourings and flavourings Salim Mulla, chairman of the halal sub-committee at the Lancashire Council of Mosques, said he welcomed the move. Blackburn is among the stores chosen to trail the halal pick and mix. He said: "I think there are quite a few manufacturers who sell halal sweets but this is the first major supermarket to sell halal confectionary. I really welcome that.

Sweets including liquorice sticks, cola bottles, jelly beans, gummy bears and sugared lips introduced at 10 stores – all guaranteed to be free of non-halal animal products.

Not only do they stock halal sweets, morrison has a whole range of halal products which include; confectionary, poultry, desserts, meat and fish.
