Best Things To Do at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland This Year

With the festive season well under way, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is the perfect place to enjoy a December date night or a fun family outing. From ice skating around Hyde Park’s charming Victorian bandstand to ice sculpting workshops and circus shows – there’s something for everyone at Winter Wonderland. Open until 1st January, there are only a few weeks left to visit this year – and we’ve rounded up some of the most unmissable activities.

Ice Rink

Get ready to glide into the festive season on the UK’s largest open-air ice rink, proudly sponsored by Lidl. Set under a picturesque canopy of twinkly lights, popular tickets for the Ice Rink are selling out fast, so booking in advance is recommended to avoid missing out. Penguins are also available to hire, making the skating suitable for all ages and skill levels!

Magical Ice Kingdom

Visitors can journey through the nine realms of Norse mythology at Winter Wonderland’s Magical Ice Kingdom, an immersive exploration of a mythical frozen world crafted by expert sculptors from over 500 tonnes of ice and snow. Presented in a temperature-controlled environment of -10°C, Magical Ice Kingdom is one of the largest ice exhibitions in Europe and a must-see at Winter Wonderland.

Cirque Berserk

The award-winning Cirque Berserk is back for its 11th extraordinary year, with a wild whirlwind of thrills, skills and adrenaline-fuelled stunts that are guaranteed to amaze and entertain. Shows take place at 6pm, 7:30pm and 9pm daily in the cosy Megadome.

Zippos Christmas Circus

The must-see family favourite Christmas show, Zippos Christmas Circus has an international line up of award-winning circus superstars to delight guests of all ages. Visitors can expect jaw-dropping aerial and acrobatic magic in this annual festive extravaganza with dazzling dancers, amazing juggling and a friendly host of comedy characters. Shows take place at 1pm, 2:30pm, and 4pm daily.

The Giant Wheel

Keen to see London’s epic skyline from 70-metres above? Transport into the sky on the tallest transportable wheel in the world. The Giant Wheel presented by Disney+ is a must-try experience for any visitor, with booking times available from morning to night. Don’t miss the chance to see London come alive in illumination from up above the treetops this winter.

Ice Sculpting Workshops

Visitors can release their inner artist and create their very own ice sculpture in the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland sculpture studio, guided by the UK’s finest ice artists in an intimate 40-minute session. Those that book an Ice Sculpting Workshop also receive free tickets to Magical Ice Kingdom, so guests can draw inspiration from the experts themselves!

Santaland Unlimited Ride Pass

Perfect for young families wanting to maximise their day out, the Santaland Unlimited Ride Pass offers unrestricted access to over 15 family-friendly rides in Winter Wonderland’s Santaland area for only £25. Passholders will also receive free entry to Winter Wonderland.

The Christmas Market

Not to miss is this year’s redesigned Christmas Market, which features a range of traders selling local sourced and handmade crafts, Christmas shopping staples and delicious food and beverage. With a brand-new Scandinavian themed Market Square and programme of live music, the Christmas Market is the ultimate immersive winter shopping experience.

Eat, drink and be merry at The Sleigh-By. It’s a cosy place to warm up, get festive and enjoy a bite to eat, packed with street food traders and a chill out area. Visitors can soak in the atmosphere with family, friends and everyone’s favourite festive tunes.
