The Safest and Cheapest Airlines in The World

With many making plans to travel abroad this year, finding the right airline has become a high priority. Whilst some things such as airport chaos and delays are part and parcel of travelling, safety is always paramount.

Every year, AirlineRatings carries out thorough checks with a range of airlines to determine the safest airlines in the world. Last year, Singapore Airlines topped the list with Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways coming in second and third place respectively.

However, this year has been slightly different. Analysing things like fleet age, pilot training quality, covid protocols and crash records over the last several years, AirlineRatings also looks at innovation and how this contributes towards the safety of the airline.

Qantas Tops The List

This year, Qantas has ranked as the safest airline in the world. In 2022, the airline ranked as the seventh safest airline in the world, which means it has come a long way this year.

On the other hand. British Airways dropped one place and now ranks as the 17th safest airline in the world.

The safest low-cost airlines in the world

Safety is a top priority, but many of us are also looking for the cheapest airline this year as we battle the rising costs of almost everything.

Earlier this month, Airline Ratings also released a list of 20 of the cheapest low-cost airlines in the world after monitoring the prices and analysing safety factors of 385 airlines.

AirlineRatings looks at certain factors when judging which airlines are to be considered the safest low-cost airlines. This includes results of safety audits by The International Civil Organisation, fleet age and incident records over the past two years.
